Sorption and desorption of radioactive organic iodine by silver doped zeolite and zeolite X

Silver doped zeolite (AgX) has attracted significant attention as a good adsorbent of organic iodine (CH3I) in the gas phase. Heat treatment waste, which is composed iodine-sorbed AgX, may be necessary for disposal, would removed from AgX at high temperature. Therefore, sorption and desorption behaviors CH3I on X (13X) were investigated. Herein, labeled by 125I tracer was synthesized via isotope exchange used experiments AgX. From experiment results, both CH3125I stable showed similar behavior nearly 100% sorbed 5 g flow rate lower than 0.08 m/s. Under humidity conditions, soaked decreased performance observed. However, after drying recovered to initial state. exhibited higher holding 13X, almost all 13X up 500 °C. In contrast, it confirmed that removal not observed until 830
